On April 29,2018,God dispatched a host of angels to bring Barbara Louise Ross of Pricedale home to Him. She was the daughter of the late Eugene Ross and Laurice R. Norfleet Ross Banks of Pricedale. Barbara worked at Bell Telephone in New York for 20 years,then relocated to Washington,D.C.,and was employed at Blue Cross/Blue Shield as a secretary/supervisor. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Denwood in Washington,D.C.,where she served as treasurer,was an usher,nurse and was part of the catering service. Upon relocating back to Pricedale to be with her family,Barbara joined Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Clifford Carter,serving as missionary,usher and a committed Bible student. Some of her joys in life were collecting church figuries,collecting coins,listening to oldies but goodies,sounds of Motown,jazz,reading,but Gospel music was her heartbeat. Barbara leaves to cherish her memories her mother,Laurice R. Norfleet Ross Banks of Pricedale;brothers,Richard Ross of Belle Vernon,James Ross of Temple Hills,Md.,Maurice Ross of Millvale ad David Ross of Monessen;sister,Donna J. Ross of Pricedale;and a host of nieces,nephews and other relatives and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her father,Eugene Ross and brothers,Robert and Willie Ross.Viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday,May 4,2018,with viewing from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday,May 5,with the service following at Antioch Baptist Church,945 Henry St.,Belle Vernon,with the Rev. Clifford A. Carter,pastor,officiating. Interment will be at Belle Vernon Cemetery.
