A former Monessen woman;Mrs.Avis Syler Evans;63;of 229 Chalfant St.;Beltzhoover;Pa.;died suddenly in Mercy Hospital;Pittsburgh;Monday;July 19;1965;at 4:15 p.m. Mrs.Evans was a member of Beulah Baptist Church of Beltzhoover;Usher Board;Gospel Chorus and Senior Missionary Society;all of the church;Duo Deciom Social Club at Beltzhoover and the Beltzhoover Women’s Arts and Crafts Club. Surviving are her husband;Barron Evans;a daughter;Mrs.Audrey Syler Jackson of Pittsburgh;four sisters;Mrs.Lela Kincheilo;Mrs.Myrtle S.Russell;Mrs.Wilma Knight and Mrs.Hazel Hambrick;all of Nashville;Tenn.;three brothers;Floyd Simmons of Belle Vernon;C.L.Simmons and Connie Simmons;both of Nashville;many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Beulah Baptist Church in Beltzhoover from 3 to 11 p.m.July 21. The remains will then be brought to Union Baptist Church;Monessen;for viewing Thursday;July 22;from 9 a.m.until time of service there the same day at 1 p.m. Officiating will the Rev.Walter W.Johnson;pastor of Union Baptist Church;assisted by the Rev.Philip Greene and the Rev.D.D.Chatman.
