Ashby Boyer,aged 76 years,a resident of Monessen since 1898,died Friday, July 8,1949 in the Charleroi-Monessen hospital,after an illness of two years,death being due to complications. Mr. Boyer was well-known,having served as janitor at the P.& L.E. railroad station for a number of years and later in the same capacity at various places in the city. He was a member of the Wayman A.M.E.Church where he was superintendent of the Sunday school for 20 years,and also served as a steward and trustee. He was instrumental in founding Monessen Lodge 79,F.and A.M. and was a past master of the organization. Surviving are two nieces,Mabel and Evelyn Newman of New York City. His wife preceded him in death several years ago. The body will lie in state at the Waymen A.M.E.Church after 5 o'clock Monday evening until Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock,the time for the funeral services. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. F.A.
