Arthur W. McCarthy of 134 McKean Ave.,Donora,died Friday, April 13,1984 at 3 a.m.in the Aspinwall Veterans Hospital following a lenghty illness. A veteran of World War II,Mr. McCarthy was a retired postal worker. Survivors include his wife,Mary Dupree McCarthy;three sons, Arthur and Gerald,both of New York,and Brian of Donora; three daughters, Mrs.Joyce Carter,Mrs. Barbara Harrell and Mrs Jewel Ward, all of New York;one brother, William Barnes of Belle Vernon;two sisters, Burnita Dews of Belle Vernon and Ernestine Freeman of Monessen and nine grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City. The body will be moved Monday to the Macedonia Holiness Church in Arnold City to lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m.,the hour of services at the church. Burial will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
