Obituary

Arthur Jackson of 129 Krolic St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,March 9,1978 at 9 p.m. at his home. He was born Jan.15,1902 in Montgomery County,Ala.,a son of the late Wesley and Lula Jackson. Mr.Jackson has been a deacon and Sunday School superintendent at the Mt.Hebron Baptist Church of Lyndale in Terrance,Pa. A retired coal miner,he was a member of United Mine Workers Local 1190,Ellsworh and Monessen F.& A.M. Lodge 79. Survivors include his widow,Mattie Zola Jackson,two nieces,Elizabeth Harris of New York,Erma Jackson of Pittsburgh,one great-nephew,Monty Harris of New York,and several other relatives. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Friends will be received in the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home,608 Sixth St.,Monessen,from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. The body will be taken to the Antioch Baptist Church Sunday at 3 p.m. where it will lie in state until Monday at 1 p.m.,the time of service. The Rev.Vernon Hawkins will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Masonic services will be held Sunday at 8 p.m. in the church. Beverly C.Draper is the funeral director in charge.
