Arthur H.Van Riper;72;of 440 Knox Ave.;Monessen;died Friday;Sept.24;1965;following a lingering illness. He was born in Gillespie Hollow and had been a Monessen resident for thirty-five years. He retired 3 years ago from the open hearth department of the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. He is survived by his widow;Margaret Allan Van Riper;one sister;Mrs.Myrtle Gaul of Belle Vernon;two brothers;J.William Van Riper of Greene Co.;and Ray Van Riper of Clairton. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home;Monessen. Services will be held there Monday;Sept.17;at 1:30 a.m. in charge of the Rev.Glen H.Burrows;pastor of the Monessen Presbyterian Church. Interment;Belle Vernon Cemetery. H.Denver Rhome of Monessen is the funeral director.
