Armand (Mundo) Sichi;69;of 6 Eggers Avenue;Belle Vernon;died Thursday;April 23;1998;at 5:10 p.m.in St.Francis Medical Center;Pittsburgh. He was born June 30;1928;in Fairhope;a son of the late Adam and Angelina Cecarelli Sichi. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon;where he was instrumental in the formation of the Belle Vernon Fodd and Fellowship Program. He was a life member and past president of the North Belle Vernon volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Belle Vernon Moose Lodge and had served
one term as a Belle Vernon
councilman. A life-long resident
of Belle Vernon; he retired in
1988 from the Monessen Plant;
Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;
where he was a saturator and
steelman. He had held many
positions and was past president of the Monessen Coke
Plant Union USW Local 2698.
He was a U.S. Marine; having
served during the Korean
Conflict.
In addition to his parents; he
was preceded in death by two
brothers; Edward and Orlando
Sichi. Survivors include his wife of 48 years;Mona Franks Sichi;two sons and daughters-in-law;Armand and Pamela Sichi Jr.of Roscoe;and Barry and Terri Sichi of Belle Vernon;one brother;Reno Sichi of Commerce;Ga.;four grandchildren;Richard and Josh Sichi;Barry Youger and Larissa Horme. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home with the Rev. S.Miles McConnell;pastor of the United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
