Obituary

Anthony N. Marinos, 49, of Fayette City, died Saturday, April 20, 2002, in the emergency room at Mon Valley Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born Sept. 13, 1952, in Newport News, Va., a son of Connie Strubakis Helton, who survives, and the late Jack Marinos. Mr. Marinos was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Monessen. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he coached youth bowling at Brunswick Bowling Lanes. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Planey Marinos and children, Shane Marinos at home and Thomas Marinos of Florida, his mother, Connie Strubakis Helton of Belle Vernon, his mother-in-law, Betty Planey of Fayette City, one brother, Jack Marinos of State College, one sister, Margaret Love of Ruffsdale, two brothers-in-law, Richard and wife Maria Planey and David and wife Anita Planey, all of Monessen, and one granddaughter, Caylee Jade Marinos of Florida. Friends will be received in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, April 24, until 10 a.m. when a Blessing Service will take place in the funeral home with the Rev. Father Joechim Pantelis officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
