Obituary

Fairhope merchant Anthony J. (Tony) Steinberg,owner of Steinberg's Super Market,died Monday, Jan. 26,1981 at 12:01 a.m. at Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp.  Mr. Steinberg,71,of 211 Perry Ave.,Fairhope, Belle Vernon,had owned the local supermarket since 1947.  Born July 24,1909 in Manistee,Mich.,he was the son of the late Adolph and Valaria Dembinski Steinberg. Mr. Steinberg was a member of St. Sebastian's R.C?Church,Belle Venron. He was a 30 year member of the Elks Lodge No. 773,Monessen. Survivors include his widow, Mary Sadowski Steinberg; two daughters, Mrs. Paul C. (Gloria) Tracey of Mapleview,Charleroi,and Mrs. Eugene F. (Antoinette) Salada of Lynnwood, Belle Vernon; eight grandchildren; a brother, Frank Steinberg of Manistee and three sisters, Mrs. Helen Schubert,Mrs. Stella Schubert and Mrs. Ray (Bernardine) Swidorski,all of Manistee. Friends will be received in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,after 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.  Prayer services will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The family suggests memorial contributions in Mr. Steinberg's name be made to Mon Valley Catholic High School, Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
