Obituary

Anthony J. Krofcheck,93,formerly of Pittsburgh,died Wednesday,Oct. 6,1999,in the Canonsburg Hospital,Canonsburg.  He was born Aug. 22,1906,in Somerset,a son of the late John and Catherine Balut Krofcheck. Mr. Krofcheck had been employed by Diamond Market and was an usher at Three Rivers Stadium.  Serving in World War II,he was a sergeant with Company C Second Chemical Mortar Battalion. Roman Catholic by faith, he had served as an usher for the church in his community. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Krofcheck. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Clara Kerekes of Monessen and Mrs. Josephine Czmiel of Washington,Pa.;and the following nieces and nephews,George L. Katsuleris of Upper St. Clair,Anthony L. Katsuleris of Monongahela,Maria J. Sepe of Washington, Pa.,Charles Czmiel of Pittsburgh,Jerry Czmiel of Ohio,Jean Morrison of Ohio,Carol Krofcheck of Washington,Pa.,and David Krofcheck,also of Washington,Pa. Friends will be received Thursday,Oct. 7,from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. in Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church,Monessen.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
