Anthony J. Helmken of 109 Lincoln Ave.,Charleroi,died Monday, April 1,1985,at 1:34 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp. He was 50. Born June 9,1934,in Charleroi,he was a son of the late John and Louise Frederick Helmken. Mr. Helmken was a Catholic by faith. He was a member of the Slavic Citizen's Club and French Club,both of North Charleroi;the Charleroi Sportsmen's Club;the Polish Club and Independence Club,both of Bentleyville and the Ellsworth Sportsmen's Club. He was employed at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp's Monessen plant. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Edwin (Elma) Weckoski of Coal Center and two nephews,John Weckoski of Carrolltown, Pa., and David W. Weckoski of White Oak. He was preceded in death by a niece. Judith Jackson. Friends are being received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. a the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.,226 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi, where a Blessing service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. with Father John S. Charaski,pastor of St. Luke Church of Ellsworth offiiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
