Obituary

Anthony (Tony) Stringhill,403 Ferncliff Dr.,Belle Vernon,died Tuesday,Oct.23,1984, in West Penn Hospital,Pittsburgh. He was 81. Mr.Stringhill was born in Italy on Oct.9,1903,s son of the late Joseph and Josephine Mazzei Stringhill. He was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon Community and was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. He was a life member of the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. Mr.Stringhill served as a councilman in North Belle Vernon for 18 years and was employed at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp's Allenport plant until retirement in 1966. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by six brothers,Orlando,Charles,Frank,Rudolph,James and Fred Stringhill. Survivors include his wife,Julia Demino Stringhill,a son,Leonard at home,a daughter,Mrs. Edward (Josephine) Balog of Allison Park,two brothers,Samuel and Louis,both of Belle Vernon,and two sisters,Mrs.Lena Mazzei and Mrs.Janie Mitchell,both of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. at St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Services by North Belle Vernon Fire Department members will begin at the funeral home at 7:15 p.m. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral home is handling the arrangements.
