Obituary

Ann Kermes Parilak, 83, of Rostraver Township, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the home of her son, Joseph, in Colfax, W.Va. Born in Redstone Township on July 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Patricia Zbyvatel Kermes. Ann was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company and later worked at the Bettis Plant of Westinghouse. She was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver Township and its Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, James Michael Parilak, of Norfolk, Va., Joseph Edward and Lisa Parilak, of Colfax, W.Va., and Dr. Leonard David Parilak, of Las Vegas, Nev., a daughter, Laura Bagdadi and husband Ariel, of Scottsdale, Ariz., three grandchildren, Abreonna and Adalynn Parilak and Lucas Bagdadi, and two sisters, Agnes Nicholas, of Pittsburgh, and Margie Kushak, of Uniontown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Regis Parilak, in 1997, and seven brothers and two sisters. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until 9:30 a.m. in the JAMES C. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 12, at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Anne with her pastor, the Rev. Ronald L. Simboli, presiding. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery, Rostraver Township.
