Obituary

Annie C.Irons,80,of 708 Fayette Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Saturday,Feb.22,1975,at 8:30 a.m. in the Waddington Convalescent Home,Fayette City. She was born in Allegheny County on July 19,1894,daughter of the late Frank and Louisa Calverley Hale,and had resided in the Belle Vernon area for more than 60 years. Mrs.Irons attended the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and was a former member and secretary of the Dames of Malta,Belle Vernon,and belonged to the Order of Eastern Star,Belle Vernon. She was formerly employed at the Waddington Convalescent Home. Her husband,Walter U.Irons,preceded her in death in 1954. Surviving are three brothers,Charles Hale of California,Pa.,Frank Hale of Fort Lauderdale,Fla.and Walter Hale of Belle Vernon,two sisters,Mrs.Vincent (Thelma) Boag of Fort Lauderdale,Fla.,and Mrs.August (Genevieve) Vandermer of Belle Vernon,and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
