Annie C.Irons;80;of 708 Fayette Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Saturday;Feb.22;1975;at 8:30 a.m. in the Waddington Convalescent Home;Fayette City. She was born in Allegheny County on July 19;1894;daughter of the late Frank and Louisa Calverley Hale;and had resided in the Belle Vernon area for more than 60 years. Mrs.Irons attended the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and was a former member and secretary of the Dames of Malta;Belle Vernon;and belonged to the Order of Eastern Star;Belle Vernon. She was formerly employed at the Waddington Convalescent Home. Her husband;Walter U.Irons;preceded her in death in 1954. Surviving are three brothers;Charles Hale of California;Pa.;Frank Hale of Fort Lauderdale;Fla.and Walter Hale of Belle Vernon;two sisters;Mrs.Vincent (Thelma) Boag of Fort Lauderdale;Fla.;and Mrs.August (Genevieve) Vandermer of Belle Vernon;and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
