Obituary

Anna Sarnowski,736 Graham St.,Belle Vernon,died Monday at 9:10 a.m.in the Frick Community Hospital,Mt.Plesant. She was 78. Born June 5,1902 in Arnold City,she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Kopcho Luzanski. Mrs.Sarnowski had lived in Belle Vernon the last 50 years. Mrs.Sarnowski was a member of St.Sebastian's Church,Legion of Mary,the Ladies Guild,the Catholic Daughters of America and the Auxiliary to the American Legion Post 659,all of Belle Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband,Steve Sarnowski,on Jan.5,1970. Survivors include two sons,Joseph and George Sarnowski,both of Valparaiso,Ind.,two daughters,Mrs.Joseph (Helen) Walko and Mrs.Mary Sivek,both of Belle Vernon,a brother,John Luzanski of Belle Vernon,two sisters,Mrs.George (Sue) Janosik of Swissvale and Mrs.Eugene (Helen) Gilmore,nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Tuesday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. American Legion Post 659,Belle Vernon,Auxiliary will hold services on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.at the funeral home,and the Parish Rosary will be recited that same night at 8:45 p.m.Prayer services will be held Wednesdy at 9:30 a.m.at the funeral home,followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m.at St.Sebastian's Church,Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
