Anna Smith;87;formerly of Fairhope;died Friday;April 23;1999;at 11:45 p.m. in Mt.Macrina Manor;Uniontown. She was born Aug.7;1911;in Monessen;a daughter of the late Alex and Mary Herchak Spirko. Mrs.Smith previously lived in Donora for three years;and prior to that;she lived on Hoffman Street in Fairhope for 40 years. She was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Survivors include three sons;James R.Smith of Uniontown;William Smith of Donora;and David Smith of Charleroi;three daughters;Mrs.Frank (Elizabeth) Bartolozzi of Dunlevy;Mrs.Patricia Haywood of Donora;and Mrs.Curt (Mary Jane) Lessman of Charleroi;one sister;Catherine Roddy of Monessen;19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents;whe was preceded in death by her husband;James R.Smith in November;1976;and by a granddaughter;Tammy Lessman in 1972. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.;followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
