Obituary

Anna Julia Vagasky Michaels of Tyrol Pass,Monessen,died Thursday,June 5,1966,at 9:03 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 90. Mrs.Michaels was born Feb.14,1896,in Budkovce,Austria-Hungary,a daughter of the late Emerich and Anna Popellas Vagasky. She had immigrated to the United States in July 1912,and was a resident of Monessen the past 65 years. Mrs.Michaels was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. She was also a member of the Czechoslovakian Organization of Immigrant Slovaks. In addition to her parents whe was preceded in death by her husband,John Michaels Sr.,Dec.3,1955,a daughter,Agnes Michaels,Jan.15,1933,a son,John Michaels Jr.,Feb.7,1986,two sisters,Julka and Mary,and two brothers,Stefan and Emerich. Survivors include four sons,Joseph Michaels at home,Frank Michaels of Elizabeth,Elmer Michaels of Monessen and Anthony Paul Michaels at home,four daughters,Ann Pagonis of Belle Vernon,Helen Martin of Clearwater,Fla.,Margaret Mann of Monongahela and Mrs.Ted (Dolores) Zyglowicz of Monessen,a brother,Michael Vagasky of Budkovce,Austria-Hungary,14 grandchildren,12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a prayer service will be held Monday,June 9,at 9:15 a.m.,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
