Obituary

Anna G. Illig, 81, of 305 First St.,Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, April 27,1977, at 6:19 p.m. in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. She was born in Banning on Feb. 11,1896,daughter of the late Andrew and Mae Gaul Samoda, and had lived in the Belle Vernon area the last 15 years. She formerly resided in Fox Chapel. Mrs. Illig was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Fox Chapel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Illig,in 1962,and by a daughter, Dorothy Bell,in 1972,and also by three brothers, George,Frank and William Samoda. Surviving are one daughter,Mrs.Edith Gates of Belle Vernon; one brother,Andrew Samoda of Belle Vernon,and one sister, Edith Samoda of Belle Vernon;three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Hartzell A. Michael of the Lynnwood Lutheran Church officiating.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
