Mrs. Herman Steinmiller; aged 40;
of Dunlevy shot and instantly killed
herself at her home at 7 o’clock Thursday morning;October 4;1927. Despondent over a lingering illness;
Mrs. Steinmiller arose this morning
before the other members of the family and going to the kitchen of the
home secured a 32 calibre revolver
and fired a shot in her left breast;
the bullet piercing her heart and
causing instant death.
The husband; and four children
ranging in age from 2 to 14 were awakened from their slumbers by the sound of the shot;and rushing downstairs found the wife and mother lying on the floor of the kitchen home with life extinct. According to other members of the family;Mrs.Steinmiller has been ill for the past year;and showing no signs of improvement she has grown despondant and evidently decided to end it all Thursday morning. Deputy Coroner M.Crowley of Charleroi was notified and viewed the body which was then turned over to Meleynzer’s mortuary in Belle Vernon.
