Obituary

Anna A.Blatnik,90,of Fayette City R.D.,died Thursday,June 1,1995,in the Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born May 3,1905,in Wick Haven,Fayette County,she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Johanna Voje Sladich. Mrs.Blatnik was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City,and the Handmaids of the Holy Spirit. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Anton (Tony) Blatnik,a daughter,Josephine Blatnik,a son,John Blatnik,a sister,Therese Sladich,and seven brothers,Joseph,Cyril,Rudolph,Alvin,Frank,Phillip and Ignatius Blatnik. Surviving are two daughters,Frances Winn of Virginia Beach,Va.,and Barbara Lipp of Reynoldsburg,Ohio,three sons,Anthony (Tony) Blatnik of Fayette City,George Blatnik of Pittsburgh and Thomas Blatnik of Carroll Township,21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.,Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday until 9:30 a.m. in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City. A prayer service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City,with the Rev.Richard E.Mackiewicz as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A parish vigil service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home.
