Ann Mendicino Ross; 89; of North Belle Vernon; died Thursday; April 14; 2011; at 7:28 p.m. in Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born Jan. 22; 1922; in North Belle Vernon; she was the daughter of the late Domenico and Josephine Ambrose Mendicino. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon; Mrs. Ross was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; was a homemaker; member of the former Catholic Daughters Of The Americas Belle Vernon Court 1522; Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly and the former Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law; John J. and Cindy Ross Jr.; of North Belle Vernon; Anthony (Toby) Ross and Michael Ross; both at home; Thomas and Trenise Ross; of Stephens City; Va.; three grandchildren; Laurie; Thomas and Travis Ross; three great-grandchildren; Brook; Brian and Brianna Rotheran; a brother; Michael Mendicino; of North Belle Vernon; three sisters and four brothers-in-law; Rose and Leo Sabatini; of Almont; Mich.; Norma and Ralph Falbo; of White Oak; Teresa and Donald O’Toole; of North Belle Vernon; and Nick Nuccetelli; of Jeannette. She was preceded in death by her husband; John J. Ross Sr.; who passed July 11; 2001; a granddaughter; Sherry Ross Rotheran; two brothers; Joseph and James F. Mendicino; a sister; Adeline Nuccetelli; and two sisters-in-law; Viola Mendicino and Irene Mendicino. Visitation will be held Saturday; April 16; from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday; April 17; from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. Prayer service will be held Monday; April 18; at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick; pastor; as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
