Obituary

Andrew W.Davenport,81,of Roscoe died this morning at 6 o'clock in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Coalvale,Tenn.,a son of the late Stephen and Amanda Smith Davenport. He was a retired millwright of the Charleroi plant of Corning Glass Works. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose 338,Roscoe, Slovak Club of Roscoe,Allenport Rod and Gun Club,Turkeyfoot Rod and Gun Club of Confluence. Surviving are three sons,George of Roscoe,with whom he made his home,Clyde of Speers and Elmer of Worthington,Ind.,one daughter,Mrs.John (Karthryn) Hanchin of Belle Vernon,two stepsons,John A.Gibson of Coal Center R.D.1 and Charles Neilson of Baltimore,Md.,one stepdaughter,Mrs.Alfred (Audrey) Malmgren of Coal Center R.D.1,four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Ruth Eckert Funeral Home,Roscoe,where a service will be held Thursday,May 27,at 1 p.m. with the Rev.James Cuppert of United Presbyterain Church of Roscoe officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Ruth Eckert,funeral director.
