Obituary

Andrew Turda,81,of 310 Johnson Ave.,Pricedale,died Thursday,June 10,1965,at 9 p.m. Mr.Turda was born in Hungary,Sept.9,1883,and had lived most of his life in this area. He was a member of Hungarian Presbyterian Church,Pricedale,William Penn Fraternal Association,Branch 7 and the Hungarian Club,Pricedale. He was retired from the Somers mine,Pittsburgh Coal Co.,Pricedale,May 25,1941. Surviving are his widow,Emma,a son,Emil Turda of Silver Spring,Md.,five daughters,Mrs.Louis (Elizabeth) Varga,Leechburg,Mrs.William (Isabel) Kovatch,Fairhope,Mrs.Alex (Erma) Kovatch,Strongsville,Ohio,Mrs.Frank (Ella) Illar,Daisytown,Mrs.Fred (Lillian) Spruth,Detroit,Mich. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m.,Friday,June 11. Prayer services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday,June 12,at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday,June 13,at 2 p.m.from the funeral home,followed by additional services from the Union Church,Pricedale. The Rev.Victor Bodnar,pastor of the Hungarian Presbyterian Church,will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director.
