Andrew R.(Indian) Johnston of 341 Hill St.;Belle Vernon;died Thursday;Feb.20;1986;at 10 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp. He was 65. Mr.Johnston was born Jan.2;1921;in Belle Vernon;a son of the late Fuller and Laura Kearns Johnston. In May of 1983;he retired from employment with the Monessen Works of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. Mr.Johnston was a U.A.Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church;Belle Vernon. Surviving are his wife;Jacqueline Miller Johnston;and one son;John J.Johnston;and a daughter-in-law;Linda Johnston;both of Greensburg. In addition to his parents;Mr.Johnston was preceded in death by two brothers;Joseph and Lawrence. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m.in the funeral home;with Dr.Donald A.Schnarr;pastor;First Baptist Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery;Belle Vernon;Pa. The Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
