Obituary

Andrew R. Wassilchalk, 58, of Bentleyville, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, in his home. He was born Oct. 4, 1950, in Charleroi, a son of Kathleen (Daughterty) Wassilchalk, who survives and resides in Pricedale (Rostraver Township), and the late Andrew Wassilchalk, who died Dec. 27, 1968. He was a 1968 graduate of Belle Vernon High School and enjoyed theatre, going to flea markets, and traveling. Mr. Wassilchalk worked in the Production Division of Corning Glass, Charleroi, for 36 1/2 years, and retired in 2006. He was a member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, the Belgian and Russian clubs, all in Charleroi, and Charleroi American Legion Post No. 22. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two daughters, Stacy LaRue and Tracy Brownfield, both of Charleroi, four grandchildren, Jessica and Shannon LaRue, Ashley Wassilchalk and Wayne Kittle, one sister, Winifred (Richard) Marsland, of Belle Vernon, one brother, Nick Wassilchalk, of Pricedale, his fiancee, Charlene Daniloff, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday, Feb. 26, from 11 a.m. to noon, the hour of service in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 619 Main St., Bentleyville (724-239-2191).
