Andrew Kostal;83;of Fayette City R.D.1;died Sunday;Jan.11;1976;at 5 p.m.in his home following a lengthy illness. Mr.Kostal;a retired coal miner;was the son of the late Matthew and Thresa Kostal and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local Union 9873;District 5. He was also a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Fayette City;the Jednota Lodge;Sokol Lodge 270;National Slovak Society;Golden Agers Club and the American Slavonic Citizens Club;all of Fayette City and the Independent Slovak Citizen’s Club of Gillespie. Survivors include his widow;Justina Kostal;five daughters;Mrs.John (Jennie) Turchek of Fayette City R.D.1;Mrs.Paul (Helen) Sedlak of Perryopolis R.D.2;Mrs.Gerald (Jessie) Claybaugh of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Mike (Marie) Koliscak of Speers Hill;Charleroi;and
Mrs.William (Agnes) Molnar of Fayette City;15 grandchildren;and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home in Fayette City after 3 p.m.Monday;Jan.12. Services will be held Wednesday;Jan.14;at 9:30 a.m.;followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.at Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Fayette City;with the Rev.Thomas Rinn;pastor;officiating. A parish Rosary will be said Tuesday;Jan.13;at 3 p.m.in the funeral home. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Howard W.McCrory;funeral director in charge.
