Andrew E. Baron,56,of 714 Rostraver Road,Belle Vernon, died Thursday, Aug. 3,1978 at 7:30 p.m. at his home. Born in Monessen on March 13,1922,he was the son of the late Andrew J. and Anna Baron. He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Belle Vernon, the American Legion of Belle Vernon, the Hungarian Club of Pricedale,and the Slovak Home and Knights of Columbus,both in Monessen. A resident of Belle Vernon since he moved there from Monessen in 1955,he was employed in the blast furnace department of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Plant in Monessen. He was also a veteran of World War II, having served as a gunner's mate, second class. Survivors include his widow, Irene Salvino Baron; one son, Andrew E. Baron II of Belle Vernon; one brother, Michael (Brownie) Baron o f Monessen; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Sassak of Monessen, Sister Carol Ann Baron of Youngstown,Ohio, Mrs. Rose Manning of Cleveland,Ohio and Mrs. Bette Fayer of Monessen and one grandson. Friends were received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service was held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Belle Vernon.
