Andrew A. Donuts Baron; 90; of Paradise; Calif.; formerly of Pricedale; went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday; Oct. 15; 2002. He was born in Duquesne on Sept. 24; 1912; a son of John and Mary Baron. He attended Monessen High School. In 1940; he married Catherine Bartek of Belle Vernon. Mr. Baron retired in 1973 with 44 1/2 years of service from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Monessen. He was a member of the Hungarian Club in Pricedale; where he loved to play pinochle once a week. Another favorite pastime was deer and bear hunting. After retiring; he and his wife Catherine moved to Dana Point; Calif.; where Andy was made an honorary member of the carpenter’s union. Andy lived; in his later years; with his wife Catherine at the Cypress Acres Convalescent Hospital; where Andy was considered to be the most helpful; compassionate resident ever to come through their doors. He was an active member of the Resident Council; where he constructively handled issues in defense and support of his many friends at Cypress Acres; right up until his stroke on Oct. 6. Always participating at resident activities; Andy was ever present at gospel singing; Bible study; sports; current events; exercise; and; of course; bingo. On Sept. 24; 2002; Andy enjoyed the special celebration of his 9Oth birthday; for all his family was in attendance. In addition to his parents; family who went on before were his brothers and sisters; John; James; Joseph; Anna; Paul and Margaret Baron Benson. He is survived by his wife; Catherine; who still resides at Cypress Acres Convalescent Hospital in Paradise; Calif.; and one sister; Mary Baron of Monessen. Also left to cherish his memory are his daughter; Bette Marino and husband Anthony of Magalia; Calif.; granddaughters; Carrie (Tom) Ank; Lia (James) Kieckhafer; and great-grandchildren; Madeline and Abigail Ank; and Alexis and Will Kieckhafer; all of California. Uncle Andy will be sadly missed by nephews and nieces; Dolores Roskovich; Tom Buchanan; Judy Johnson; Allan and Terry Tylka; Nancy Poole and John Radich and their families. Services will be held Friday; Oct. 25; at 10:30 a.m. at the chapel in Belle Vernon Cemetery; where he will be laid to rest; with the Rev. Eugene Spear; pastor of Char-Belle Free Methodist Church; Belle Vernon; officiating. The LEONARD J.
