Obituary

Mrs.Amy Astle,87,of 411 Railroad St.Stockdale,died Tuesday,July 6,1971,at 1:10 p.m.in Brownsville General Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Mansfield Notts,England,a daughter of the late Mr.and Mrs.Alfred Thomas Jones. She was a lifelong resident of Stockdale and the area. She was a member of the Goodwill Club of Charleroi,Ladies Auxiliary of Stockdale Volunteer Fire Co.and St.Mary's Episcopla Church of Charleroi. Surviving are her husband,Ernest Astle,two sons,Raymond at home and Woodrow of Belle Vernon,four daughters,Mrs.Dell (Marian) Authers,of Fayette City,Mrs.William (Florence) Pidgeon of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Lawrence (Doris) Tulley of Altoona and Mrs.Angelo (Loma Jean) Greco of Greenburg,three sisters,Amelia,Emily and Florence of England,and one brother,Alfred in England. Friends will be received after 7 p.m.Wednesday and from 2 to4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday at the Ruth Eckert Funeral Home,Roscoe,where a service will be held Friday,July 9,at 1 p.m.with Canon Joseph wittkofski of St.Mary's Episcopal Church,Charleroi,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Ruth Eckert,funeral director.
