Alvin S. Reed,47,of 1227 Morgan Ave.,Monessen,died suddenly Wednesday, December 10,1958,at 12:50 a.m. of a heart attack shortly after starting to work on the midnight shift at the Monessen Page Division of the American Chain and Cable Co.,Inc. He was born in Erie on Jan. 6,1911 and was a resident of Monessen for 40 years. He was an employee of the American Chain and Cable Co.for 22 years and a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Estella Reed; five children,Anthony,Damon,Philip,Jacqueline and Elaine,all at home and four brothers,John of Rochester,N.Y.,James of Harrisburg,Damon of Asbury Park, N.J. and George of Erie. Friends are being received at the Draper Funeral Home,Monessen and funeral services will be held Saturday,Dec. 13,at 11 a,m.at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. E. Archie officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Beverly Draper,funeral director.
