A resident of Monessen the past 46 years;Mrs.Alice Margaret Smyth;72;of 118 Pennsylvania Boulevard;died Wednesday;June 30;1965;at 9:10 a.m.in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mrs.Smyth who was born at Scottdale on June 16;1893;was a member of St.Leonard’s Roman Catholic Church of Monessen. Preceding her in death were her husband;Hugh;in 1950;and a son;Lt.Hugh B.Smyth;a serviceman who was killed during action in 1945. Surviving are one son;Vincent of Bogota;N.J.;four daughters;Mrs.Thomas (Nell) Petrus of Donora;Margaret Smyth at home.Mrs.Joseph (Patricia) Guarascio of Detroit;Mich;and Mrs.William (Rita) Miller of Pittsburgh;fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends are being received at the Edwin Melenyzer Funeral Home;Monessen;from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Prayers there Saturday;July 3;at 9:30 a.m.followed by Requiem High Mass at 10 a.m.in St.Leonard’s R.C.Church;Monessen.
