Mrs.Alice Hammitt;84;of 204 Fourth St.;Belle Vernon;died in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital Wednesday;Dec.20;1967;at 3:40 p.m. after a lingering illness. Born in Belle Vernon on Nov.20;1883;she was a daughter of the late Adam and Isabelle Griffith. She is survived by her husband;William;four daughters;Mrs.Raymond (Amy) Sterner and Mrs.William (Helen) Jackson;both of Belle Vernon;Mrs.James W.(Evelyn) Grant of Titusville;Mrs.Eleanor Bajoczky of Miama;Fla.;a son;Herman of Monessen;one brother;Clarence Griffith of Monongahela;a sister;Mrs.Margaret Ward of Roscoe;twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Harold R.Toner Funeral Home;Belle Vernon from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Services there Saturday;Dec.23;at 2 p.m.with George Johnson;minister of the Church of Jesus Christ of Roscoe;officiating.
