Alice D. Sotta of 1105 Hillsman Lane,Lynchburg,Va.,formerly of the Fairhope area,died Monday,Nov. 23,1987,at 2:30 p.m. in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was 80. Mrs. Sotta was born in Massachusetts on July 28,1907,a daughter of the late Frank and Ida Rose. She was a member of Thomas Rhoades Baptist Church,Lynchburg,Va.,and resided in Lynchburg the last 4 1/2 years after living most of her life in the Fairhope area. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Louis Sotta in 1982;and a daughter,Lorraine Evans in 1979. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Harlene) Sale,with whom she made her home;two brothers, Carl Luoto and Fred Luoto,both of the state of California;two sisters, Tina Jenson of Orlando,Fla.,and Helen Falsett of Bentleyville;six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Friday at 1 p.m. with Dr. Norman Heeding,pastor of Thomas Rhoades Baptist Church,Lynchburg, Va.,officiating. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is handling the arrangements.
