Dick Brightwell of 534 Henry St.,Belle Vernon,died Monday, May 18,1981 in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 76. Mr. Brightwell was born April 17,1905, a son of the late Basil and Emma Barker Brightwell. A life-long resident of the Belle Vernon area,he was Protestant by faith. Mr. Brightwell retired in 1971 as a busdriver for the 88-Transit Lines in Charleroi. He had been the recipient of the "Million Mile Safe Driving Award" presented to him by Gov. Bill Scranton. In addition to his parents,Mr. Brightwell was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Krett in 1972. Survivors include his widow, Elizabeth Anthony Brightwell, one son,Tony Brightwell of Rostraver Township and five grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Tthursday,May 21,at 11 a.m. in the funeral home,with the Rev. James M. Robbins,pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Charleroi,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Tthe Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
