Alfred Smith of 479 McKee Ave.;Monessen;died Monday Feb.28;1977 at 4 p.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital following a brief illness. He was 81. Mr.Smith was born Feb.17;1896 in Brownsville and lived in Monessen for the past 50 years. He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Survivors include a stepdaughter;Mrs.Samuel (Bertha) Mason with whom he made his home;a stepson;Willey Simmons of Mnessen;a nephew Paule Broady of Pittsburgh;and two nieces;Florence Broady and Carrie Robbins;both of Pittsburgh. Friends will be received in the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home;608 Sixth St.;Monessen;Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m.with Rev.W.J.Hubbard officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Beverly C.Draper is funeral director in charge.
