Obituary

Alfred Vigne,about 32,was electrocuted at his home in First avenue at New Eagle while working on wiring on one of two new rooms he was adding to his cottage.  The fatal accident occured between 2:15 and 2:45 p.m.according to Deputy Coroner C.S.Patterson,who investigated.  Deputy Coroner Patterson said Mr.Vigne was found lying beneath open floor joists on ground still damp from heavy weekend rains.  He had not turned the current off before starting his work,Patterosn said.  Artifivial respiration was administered by New Eagle Police Chief Homer Coates and a Monongahela physician to no avail.  Mrs.Vigne left the house about 2:15 to go to a store.  While she was away a neighbor came in for a visit and found the body.  The family physician was immediately summoned.  He is survived by his wife,Marie Vigne,two children,Mona Lee and Thomas William,two sisters,Esther and Mrs.August Guibourdanch of Monessen,and his grandmother,Mrs.Mary Vigne,with whom he lived during his childhood.  His mother died when he was five years of age.  Friends will be received at the home of his father,Fred Vigne,303 Third street,Monessen.  Services will be held there Thursday,June 12,1947,at 2 p.m.,in charge of Rev.S.E.Brown,pastor of the Methodist Church of Monongahela,and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Chas.L.and Edwin Melenyzer are the funeral directors.
