Alfred A. Ferrari; 87; of Speers; died Sunday; June 8; 2008; in Washington County Health Center. He was born Jan. 31; 1921; in Vesta; son of the late Domenico and Assunta Orsucci Ferrari. He was a member of Mary Mother of the Church Parish of Charleroi; was vice president of the Mon Valley Progress Council since 1965 and was instrumental in the building of the Mon/Fayette Expressway. Mr. Ferrari was retired as General Manager of Dravo Corp. Keystone Division in Charleroi. Surviving are one daughter; Emma Jean Ferrari; one grandson; George Scott Procko; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his former wife; Catherine Cosner Ferrari; five brothers; Charles; Reno; Nello; William and Albert Ferrari; and five sisters; Carobina Niccolai; Minnie Mazzie; Charlotte Pardiny; Lena Mazzei; and Jean Pantaleo. Friends will be received in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME; 819 Fallowfield Ave.; Charleroi; on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Mary; Mother of the Church and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers; the family suggests contributions to the charity of one’s choice.
