Alexander Roland Sutherland;72;of 118 State St.;Speers;died Tuesday;Sept.26;1961;at 1 p.m. He was born in Brownsville;Sept.10;1889;and had been a resident of Speers for forty-eight years. He moved to Speers from Fallowfield Twp.;and had been a retired employee of the West Penn Power Co.since 1954. His last place of employment was at the substation;Fifth Street Extension;Charleroi. He is survived by his widow;Sylvia Gaskill Sutherland;three sons;George and Jay of Speers;Jack at home;three daughters;Doris and Adele at home;Mrs.Joyce Danko of Monessen;three brothers;Clyde and James of Speers and Ralph Sutherland of Twilight;and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Belle Vernon from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.;m. Services will be held there Friday;Sept.29;1961;at 2 p.m.in charge of the Rev.Charles Sowden;pastor of the Speers Methodist Church. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
