Alexander Xowan,aged 28 years,122 Johnson avenue,Pricedale,died Saturday morning,April 17,1948,at 5:30 in the U.S. Veterans hospital,Aspinwall, following a brief illness. A corporal in World War II,he was with Headquarters Battalion,182,Field Artillery and served overseas. He was a member of Belle Vernon Post 659,American Legion. He was graduated from Rostraver High School with the class of 1939. During his high school days, he was an outstanding athlete. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Cowan,and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bush and Mrs. Janet Patterson,all of Pricedale. Friends will be recived at the alte home,122 Johnson avenue,Pricedale from Sunday morning until Wednesday,April 21 when funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m.,with Rev. George Guest,of the Pricedale Union Church,officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner,funeral director.
