Alex Turda; 58; of Monongahela (Forward Township); died Monday; June 1; 2009; in Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. Born in North Charleroi on June 25; 1950; he was the son of the late Alex Turda and Yolan (Adam) Turda; who survives and resides in Rostraver Township. Mr. Turda was employed by Volkswagon and also worked as a mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He is survived by his wife; Karen S. (Staley) Turda; daughter and son-in-law; Stefanie M. and Tim Schneider; of West Newton; two grandchildren; Emily Kalynn Schneider and Jonah Alexander Schneider; and sister; Adele E. Konek; of Pittsburgh. In addition to his father; he was preceded in death by his sister; Dolly Comer. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the JAMES C.
