Alex Kruell of 306 Johnson Ave.;Belle Vernon;died suddenly at his home at 6:30 p.m.Thursday;Aug.23;1984. He was 75. Mr.Kruell was born July 31;1909;in Maisville;W.Va.;a son of the late John and Pearl Kruell. He retired in 1974 from the Corning Glass Works in Charleroi where he had been employed as a machinist. A U.S.Navy veteran of World War II;Mr.Kruell had served in three major campaigns in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He had resided in Belle Vernon the past 25 years and was a former resident of Charleroi. Mr.Kruell attended the Bunola Nazarene Church. He was a former member of the Rostraver Township Lions Club and was socially active at the Mon Valley Health Center in Monessen. He was a member of the Monessen AARP. Surviving are his wife;Mary Natko Kruell;at home;one son;Jack (Jon) Kruell;at home;two brothers;Harry and Steve Kruell;both of Charleroi;and two sisters;Mrs.Mary Holod and Mrs.Catherine Franks;both of North Charleroi. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m.in the funeral home;with the Rev.Donald Long;pastor;Bunola Nazarene Church;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
