Obituary

Alex Kruell of 306 Johnson Ave.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly at his home at 6:30 p.m.Thursday,Aug.23,1984. He was 75. Mr.Kruell was born July 31,1909,in Maisville,W.Va.,a son of the late John and Pearl Kruell. He retired in 1974 from the Corning Glass Works in Charleroi where he had been employed as a machinist. A U.S.Navy veteran of World War II,Mr.Kruell had served in three major campaigns in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He had resided in Belle Vernon the past 25 years and was a former resident of Charleroi. Mr.Kruell attended the Bunola Nazarene Church. He was a former member of the Rostraver Township Lions Club and was socially active at the Mon Valley Health Center in Monessen. He was a member of the Monessen AARP. Surviving are his wife,Mary Natko Kruell,at home,one son,Jack (Jon) Kruell,at home,two brothers,Harry and Steve Kruell,both of Charleroi,and two sisters,Mrs.Mary Holod and Mrs.Catherine Franks,both of North Charleroi. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m.in the funeral home,with the Rev.Donald Long,pastor,Bunola Nazarene Church,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
