Alex Gelotti, 94, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 at his home. Born June 19, 1922, in Belle Vernon, to the late Anthony and Maria Pulice Gigliotti. Mr. Gelotti was Catholic by faith. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II, serving in China, India and Burma. He loved to travel and was an avid hunter and fisherman, making many trips to Northern Quebec to fish. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel in the Allenport plant in 1976. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Ramona Jones Gelotti; a son and daughter-in-law, Neil "Jiggers" and Lillian Gelotti of Gillespie, a daughter, Michelle Wrigley and her fiance, Nick, of Baldwin; six grandchildren, Renee Spangenberg, Paul Wrigley, Jr., Lauren Childs, Lisa Gelotti, and Ashia and Jared Dalton; seven great grandchildren, Randy, Logan, and Danyale Spangenberg, Zachary and Addyson Wrigley, and Riley and Lucas Childs; one great-great grandchild, Randy Spangenberg III, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Alex was preceded in death by two daughters, Rosemary Weaver of Florida and Kathy Dalton of Erie, PA; two granddaughters, Jamie Chacko and Bethany Wrigley; five brothers, Silvio, Victor, Sam, John, and Mickey Gelotti; and four sisters, Millie Russo, Janie De Fazio, Rose Niccolai, and Margaret Mencarelli. Alex was the last living of his 9 siblings. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon.
