Obituary
Alex Derda, 85 died at the home of his daughter,Mrs. Margaret Halkowitz, 116 Price Ave., Belle Vernon,Monday,Sept.10,1962, at 1:15 a. m. He was born in Hungary, April 12, 1877, and had been a resident of Belle Vernon for 60 years. He was a member of the St. Sebastian R. C. Church, of Belle Vernon, the William Penn Assoc., Pricedale, the Hungarian B. L. S. Society, Pricedale. He was a retired United Mineworker. Survivors are his daughter, Mrs. Michael Halkowitz, with whom he made his home, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home, Belle Vernon, after 3.p.m.,Tuesday. Requiem High Mass will be sung in the St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,Thursday,Sept.13,at 10 a.m.,by the Rev.Andrew King. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson of Belle Vernon is the funreal director.
