Obituary

Alden C.Mills of 316 Wood St.,Belle Vernon,died Saturday,Oct.10,1987,at 12:30 p.m.at his home. He was 67. Mr.Mills was born Aug.10,1920,in Belle Vernon, son of the late Edward and Cora Neil Mills. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon. Mr.Mills was also a member of the Fraternal order of Eagles,Monessen,and the Loyal Order of Moose No.209,Belle Vernon. He retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Allenport Plant,in 1979,and had been a freelance artist and sign painter the past 40 years. Mr.Mills was a life member of Belle Vernon Fire Department No.2. Survivors include two sons,Alden C.Mills II at home and Clark Mills of Philadelphia,one daughter,Lana Vrabel of Cleveland,Ohio,three brothers,Edward Mills of Sacramento,Calif.,Glenn Mills of Hesperia,Calif.,and William Henry Mills of Highland,Calif.,one sister,Cora Belle DeSanto of Pittsburgh,six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Wednesday,Oct.14,at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Donald Bowers,pastor of the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements. Services with the Belle Vernon Fire Department will be held Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
