Obituary

Alberta Toth Liscik, 98, formerly of Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014. Born Dec. 6, 1915, in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stephanie Isac Toth. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 60 years, Mrs. Liscik was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, the former Church Ladies Guild also serving as past treasurer, was a graduate of Monessen High School, Class of 1933, was a charter member of the Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly and served as the group's travel coordinator and was a member of the First Slovak Ladies Association. Alberta was also a devoted homemaker. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Lane Lovett Jr. of Charleroi, son and daughter-in-law, Bernard Buzz and Ilene Liscik of Indiana, five grandchildren, Jackie Overdorff of Indiana, Lorree Lockard of Indiana, Jill Fiorillo of New Jersey, Lane Lovett III of Washington, and Mark Lovett of Rostraver Township, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Liscik on July 8, 1992, and two sisters, Margaret Matuschek and Elsie Kamenicky. Visitation will be held 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183, followed by prayer service at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home and funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor, as celebrant. Entombment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. If desired, memorials can be made in Alberta Liscik's name to your favorite charity.
