Albert M. Catrino,83,of 125 JeanSt.,Belle Vernon,died Friday,Aug. 1,1997,at 7:45 p.m.,at his home. Born May19,1914,in Monessen,he was the son of the late John and Mary Camino Catrino.Mr.Catrino resided most of his life in the Belle Vernon area and was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. He was the owner of Catrino's Market on Broad Avenue,a business he assumed sole responsibility for upon the retirement of his father and had operated it alone for the past 40 years. The business was founded in 1919 in Belle Vernon Borough and father and son moved the store to the Broad Avenue location in 1938. Mr. Catrino was a life member of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department and served as treasurer for more than 43 years. He was also a member of and the first Belle vernon Rotarian to be named a Paul Harris Fellow. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Catrino in 1996. Surviving are his wife of 59 years,Thelma M. Dayner Catrino; two sons and daughters-in-law,Albert D. and Dolores Catrino of Baltimore,Md.,and John R. and Angela Catrino of ValparaisO,Ind.;twosisiters, Emily Hennell of mt. Vernon,OHhio and Joann Rosenstrach of Larchmont, N.Y.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where private family funeral services will be held Tuesday morning with the Rev. John R. Cindric,pastor of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department will conduct services in the funeal home Sunday at 7 p.m.. Friends wishing to make memorial contributions on Mr. Catrino's name may do so to the Belle Vernon Rotary Club's Albert Catrino Scholarship Fund.
