Obituary

 

Albert M. Pocky, 77, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. A son of the late Albert A. and Sarah Kady Pocky, he was born in Speers on March 9, 1937. He was a member of the West Newton VFW and the Russian Club of Belle Vernon. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, he retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company and served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Troy Pocky of Roscoe and Mark and Cathy Pocky of Long Branch, one daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Mark Gallik of Monessen, two sisters, Melva Pocky and Carole Chacko, both of Charleroi, and six grandchildren, Christina Pocky, Zachary Gallik, Machall Pocky, Jordan Pocky, Cody Gallik and Markie Marie Gallik. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Badzik Vernet in 2012. Friends will be received 10 a.m. until noon Saturday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, ,http://www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com, 724-929-5300. Funeral services will be in the funeral home at noon Saturday with the Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
