Obituary

Albert Louis Pee Wee Hewitt, 50, of Charleroi, died in the emergency room at Monongahela Valley Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004. He was born in North Charleroi on Nov. 9, 1953, a son Velma Warman Hewitt, who survives and resides in Point Marion, and the late Albert Lee King Tut Hewitt. He was Protestant by faith. Mr. Hewitt was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Marine Corps for two years. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he spent 12 years as a staff sergeant, and eight years with the U.S. Army Reserves, retiring with 20 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW, both in Charleroi, and was employed by Matt Canestrale Construction of Monongahela. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Sandra Sandy Yelletz Hewitt, three daughters, Dorothy Mae McQuillis and husband Dale of Charleroi, Jenny Lee Hewitt of Monongahela, and Jesse Ann Hewitt, at home, two sisters, Dorothy Dolly Regal and Peggy Lowe and husband Dean, all of Charleroi, one brother, Michael Lee Hewitt and wife Jenette of Grindstone, five grandchildren, Dale Albert, Kellie Lynn and Joshua Michael McQuillis and Jesse Louis and Shanyce LaShae Hewitt, two nieces, Angie and Madison, and six nephews, Scott, Sean, Timmy, Kurtis, Donnie and Derek. He was preceded in death by two sons, Albert Lee and Albert Louis Hewitt, and his father, Albert Lee Hewitt. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, and Wednesday, Feb. 25, until 11 a.m., the hour of service with the Rev. James Pond of Little Redstone Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
