Obituary

Albert J. Sukel,74,of 1215 Lower Crest Ave.,Charleroi,died Monday,Oct. 22,1990,in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township,after a lingering illness. Mr. Sukel was born April 14,1916,in Donora,a son of the late Michael and Elizabeth Sukel. He was a retired employee of the former Donora Works of United States Steel Corporation.Mrs Sukel was also retired as a nuclear operator with the Pennsylvania Department of Transporation. A U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II,he was  member of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church,the Lithuanian Literary Association,the Belgium Club and American Legion Post No. 22,all of Charleroi. Surviving are his wife,Dolores Margaret Johns Sukel;two sons,William Sukel of Kingsport,Tenn.,and Thomas Sukel of Charleroi;a brother,Edward Sukel of Eldora;a sister,Mrs. Stanley (Eleanor) Turnbull of Mapleview,Speers;two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard M. Pavlic Funeral Home Inc.,Third street and Fallowfield Avenue,Charleroi.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church,Charleroi,with the Rev. Michael Selep officiating.  Burial will abe in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Leonard M. Pavlic Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
