Obituary

Albert A.Pocky of 205 Wood St.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly at 1:58 p.m. Sunday,June 12,1983,at Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp. Mr.Pocky was 79. He was born in California,Pa.,on Jan.2,1904,a son of the late William nd Minnie Kissler Pocky. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon,the Belle Vernon Musical Society,and the Belle Vernon Golden Agers. He was a retired member of Local 1187 of the United Steelworkers of America in Allenport. He was retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,where he had worked as a shearman. Mr.Pocky is survived by his widow,Sarah Cady Pocky,one son,Albert M.Pocky of Belle Vernon,two daughters,Melva Pocky of Washington,D.C.,and Mrs.James (Carole) Chacko of Tempe,Ariz.,one brother,Henry Pocky of Lover,one sister,Mrs.William (Althea)Heath of Belle Vernon,and seven grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services in the funeral home will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m.,with the Rev.Earl M.Lehman of First Baptist Church of Monessen officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
